Yusuf Safdari
Yusuf Safdari is a member of the Board of Directors at Afghan Relief. Mr. Safdari has held various leadership roles as a technology executive and corporate attorney in Silicon Valley over the last 25 years. Yusuf currently serves as VP and General Counsel for Vianai Systems, Inc., an Artificial Intelligence applications and platform company that serves global enterprises. Prior to leading in-house legal groups and working in operations, Yusuf served as a corporate and securities attorney at Wilson, Sonsini, Goodrich & Rosati in Palo Alto, California and as a Corporate Partner at one of the largest corporate law firms in the United States. During his career in corporate law firms, Yusuf worked for clients such as Google, Apple, Hewlett-Packard, Sun Microsystems, General Dynamics, Citibank, Morgan Stanley and many others.
Yusuf has a strong interest in serving non-profit organizations and has provided legal and governance advice on a pro bono basis. He has also been a corporate director of Silicon Valley Education Foundation (serving deserving underprivileged children), ING (an interfaith organization), TiE (a global non-profit fostering entrepreneurialism), and Xolv Technologies Solutions, Inc. (serving autistic children and young adults).
Yusuf lives in Menlo Park, California with his wife and two sons who like to keep him busy attending their tennis matches and basketball games. In his spare time, Yusuf enjoys studying politics, reading, philosophy, and traveling internationally with his family. Yusuf earned his B.A. in Political Science from the University of Chicago with General University Honors and his Juris Doctor from Northwestern University.
