After the Tremors, Comes the Freeze
In Afghanistan, winters are a cruel enemy. Temperatures plummet far below freezing, and families struggling to survive are left exposed to the elements. Many have been displaced by conflict or economic hardship, leaving them without adequate shelter or warmth.
In the past 2 years, powerful earthquakes and relentless floods reduced entire villages to rubble, leaving thousands homeless and struggling to rebuild their lives. Now, with another brutal winter closing in, these same families face an even greater threat: the unforgiving cold without protection, heat, or proper clothing.
Your support can be a lifeline, bringing warmth and hope to Afghan families in desperate need of relief.
Earthquake Devastation Deepens as Winter Approaches
In late September 2025, powerful earthquakes struck eastern Afghanistan, killing approximately 2,200 people and injuring around 3,000 others.
Across quake-affected regions, displaced families are living in makeshift tents or open-air camps, fully exposed to cold rain, snow, and sub-zero nights. The lack of adequate shelter, heating, and medical care has put children and the elderly at grave risk of frostbite, hypothermia, and deadly respiratory illnesses.

With roads damaged and infrastructure destroyed, access to food, clean water, and healthcare has become even more limited. Hospitals are overwhelmed, and aid deliveries are slowed by treacherous mountain conditions.
For families who have already lost everything, this winter could be their hardest yet.
Help Them Survive The Winter Cold
Our Mission
At Afghan Relief, we believe in the power of collective action and the unwavering strength of humanity.
Our mission is to help equip Afghan families with proper winter clothing to persevere through the harsh realities of winter. Donations made to the Winter Coat Drive are vital to this mission as we work to offer a lifeline to Afghan families against freezing temperatures.
Why Your Support Matters:
Your contribution directly impacts the lives of vulnerable children, the elderly, and those hardest hit by both economic hardship and natural disasters.
Even a small donation can go a long way in purchasing new coats and providing the logistics for our team to work on-site to collect, sort, and distribute coats to Afghan communities.
Together, we can fight the frost and bring comfort and protection to Afghan families this winter.
