The Reality for Elderly Afghans
Older people in Afghanistan are among the most vulnerable in the humanitarian crisis. Many suffer from chronic illness, malnutrition, and mobility issues. Harsh winters, rising food prices, and limited healthcare put their lives at constant risk.
Many elderly individuals are living:

Afghan Relief provides direct, dignified assistance to elderly Afghans through trusted local partners. Your support helps us deliver essential care rooted in compassion, respect, and Islamic responsibility.

Nutritious food packages tailored to elderly needs.
- $30 provides food for 1 elderly person for one month
- $360 provides food for 1 elderly person for one year
🏠 Shelter Support
Basic shelter assistance to ensure safety and stability throughout the year.
- $100 per month helps provide safe and secure shelter for an elderly person.
- $ 1,200 per year provides ongoing shelter and protection year-round.
🏥 Medical Support
Support for medication, check-ups, and treatment for chronic and urgent illnesses.
- $25 per month supports basic medical needs
- $300 per year helps cover ongoing healthcare and medicines
💛 Full Elderly Care Support
A combined package covering food, shelter, and medical care.
- $155 per month provides full support for one elderly person
- $1,860 per year ensures year-round dignity, care, and protection

Where possible, elders are able to volunteer their time in local masjids and educational centres, sharing wisdom, teaching Qur’an, advising youth, and preserving Islamic knowledge and community values.
